English
decorative leadwork enjoyed its heyday in the seventeenth and eighteenth
centuries. Capability Brown’s influence at the end of the eighteenth
century saw a demise in formal garden design in favour of a more
naturalistic vista. Ipso facto many of the statues, fountains and urns of
the formal gardens disappeared.
Redfields is a small company of craftsmen specialising in
the design, manufacture and restoration of decorative leadwork and House
signs. Our catalogue features a selection of popular stock patterns, but
could never convey the myriad options available. Our pleasure is to work
closely with our customers, working together from a thumbnail sketch
through to the installation of a unique garden feature.
There are few options open to the house owner short of brass
plates that are more becoming to a solicitors practice. By popular demand
we now have a tasteful solution to estate name and number plates to
compliment our superior quality range of Lead Statuary and Planters. Click here to go to main redfields web site.
Redfields have a number of stock sizes and shapes for you to chose from.
Don’t forget though, that our experienced craftsmen can easily design and
develop a plate that is outside our current range. The finished sign can
be left to its natural lead patina, the characters can be highlighted
with a choice of colours. Antique brass or copper, or indeed another
colour.
Please browse our site, either place an order on our secure order page
with your plate description and name or number you require. We will
endeavour to return your finished sign within 28 days.
We hope you find our catalogue both interesting and
informative. Quotations are free, so please do not hesitate to call and
discuss your design ideas and together we can create something unique
that will last for generations.
